The SPF Assistant certification is specifically designed to provide new professionals with a clear, recognized entry into the spray foam trade. It validates foundational knowledge in safe, effective jobsite support for both insulation and roofing projects.
The SPF Assistant certification is the first level for both Insulation and Roofing.
Steps to Certification
- Register: Enroll in the program (one-time fee) and sign up for the SPF Assistant written exam.
- Pass the Exam: Complete the required written exam, available in-person or remotely.

Who is the SPF Assistant Certification For?
This certification is the best entry point for motivated individuals looking to join the high-value spray foam field.
Your responsibilities include essential support tasks, including chemical safety, jobsite safety, equipment setup, material handling, and cleanup.
Earning your SPF Assistant Certification validates that you can safely and professionally carry out these core duties.
Prerequisite for Full Certification:
No prior experience is necessary to start.
SPF Roofing Installer
This certification is designed to validate your initial experience in spray polyurethane foam application. Earning the Installer credential proves you possess the foundational spraying skills and equipment knowledge required to contribute effectively to a professional crew.
Steps to Certification
Register: Enroll in the program (one-time fee) and sign up for the SPF Installer Written Exam.
Pass the Exam & Document Experience: Complete the required written exam, available in-person or remotely, and provide documentation confirming the minimum spraying experience.
Note: Full certification is awarded upon verification of both the passing of the Insulation Installer combined (2-part) written exam or equivalent single exams for SPF Assistant, Insulation Installer, and the experience threshold of 100,000 BD FT.

Who is the SPF Roofing Installer Certification For?

SPF Roofing Master Installer

Enroll & Take the Written Exam: Submit your one-time enrollment fee and schedule your Master Installer Written Exam, available in-person or remotely. (If you are already enrolled, email admin@spfapcp.org to check your status.)
Take the Field Exam: Arrange and successfully pass the mandatory hands-on Field Examination to demonstrate your application and equipment competence in a real-world scenario.
Verify Experience & Certify: Provide documentation confirming the minimum spraying experience of 500,000 BD FT. Full certification is awarded upon verification of passing the Master Installer combined (3-part) written exam or equivalent single exams for SPF Assistant, Insulation Installer, Master Installer field exam, and the experience threshold of 500,000 BD FT.

SPF Roofing Project Manager

Full certification is awarded upon verification of the Project Manager combined (4-part) written exam, or equivalent single exams for SPF Assistant, Insulation Installer, Insulation Master Installer, and Project Manager (no Field Exam required).

Who is the SPF Roofing Project Manager Certification For?
