Volunteer & Support SPFA PCP
Strengthen the Industry from the Inside Out
The integrity of the SPFA PCP is built on the shoulders of dedicated volunteers. By volunteering, you aren't just giving back—you are shaping the protocols that define our trade.
Whether serving as an examiner, a committee member, or a donor, your involvement ensures that the next generation of installers is as safe, skilled, and professional as the leaders who came before them.

1. Become an Examiner
The integrity of the PCP relies on neutral, experienced professionals to administer exams.

Field Examiners
We are looking for experienced Field Examiners to oversee field exams. Your leadership and knowledge will play a vital role in nurturing the next generation of professionals.
You can choose to volunteer at the annual SprayFoam Convention & Expo, or you can host field exams during your own PCP Roadshow.

Written Exam Proctor
By becoming a certified Written Examiner, you can facilitate on-site testing. In this role, you will serve as the official proctor, ensuring that the examination process is conducted securely and fairly.
Our SPFA staff members are proud to hold this certification and are available to support you throughout the process.
How To Become a Field Examiner
The SPFA PCP Certified Field Examiner is the person who conducts the field examination of the candidate wishing to be certified as an SPFA PCP Certified Master Installer. The Field Examiner’s role is to evaluate the Abilities of the candidate, which are clearly defined on the Field Examination form.
The Field Examiner does not “grade” the Field Exam, but submits the completed Field Examination form to the SPFA PCP, who will then “grade” the results.

2. Host a Roadshow Event

Partner with SPFA to host a PCP Roadshow at your facility. As a host, you provide the venue and the audience; we provide the structure. This is the most direct way to elevate the skill level in your local market.
Flexible Format: You choose the certification level (Insulation or Roofing) and the schedule.
Industry Leadership: Hosting positions your company as a hub for professional excellence.
3. Join a Certification Committee
SPFA Members are invited to join the committees that drive the direction of the Professional Certification Program. These groups play a distinct role in developing the program to ensure compliance with ISO 17024 standards.
Quality Assurance Program (QAP) Committee: Responsible for the overall certification program and maintaining ISO compliance.
Certification Scheme Committee (CSC): Responsible for developing testing protocols, content, and program overview.
Training Subcommittee: Responsible for aligning curriculum with the Learning Objectives defined by the QAP.
4. Support the Sig Hall Memorial Fund

Established in 2016, the Sig Hall Memorial Fund honors the legacy of industry leader Sig Hall. This fund provides financial assistance to contractors seeking PCP certification, removing cost barriers for dedicated professionals.
Your Impact: Donations directly fund certification scholarships and exam fees for installers who might otherwise be unable to afford credentials.
