PCP Written Exams

You know the job. Now, prove the knowledge. PCP Written Exams are an essential step in your certification journey, validating that you understand the safety, theory, and building science behind the foam.
Passing this exam proves to clients and employers that you possess the technical foundation required for professional performance on every job site.

The best preparation is knowing exactly what to cover. We offer two main resources to help you pass:
- Study Guides: Available for every certification level. These cover all Learning Objectives (LOs) you will be tested on. Download Study Guides.
- Prep Courses: Optional but encouraged. Available In-Person (at the Convention) or Online (Free for members).
Exam Questions Posed
The exam is designed to be objective.
- Format: Multiple Choice (4 Options: 1 True, 3 False).
- Content: Questions are directly related to the Job Task listing for your certification level.

You are allowed 2 Hours for each individual exam section.

Taking the Written Exam
Passing Grade
You must achieve a score of 75% or higher to pass. For combined exams, you must score 75% on each part to pass. The final grade is based on sections, not an overall average.
Re-Examination
If you do not pass, there is no limit to the number of retakes.
- Policy: You may retake a written examination as many times as needed until you pass the examination.
- Fees: Full examination fees apply for each scheduled session.
